Viz à viz
2010

This is a realtime visualization. With a lot of metaphysical light.

play play

By allowing the user(client) to navigate freely in the space, you can really have subjective circulation ... the good news is that nowadays you can create very complicated environments quite quickly without the need for tedious optimizations and months of work. You could just use an FBX file up to 3million triangles, add your lighting, textures, scripts and after that you can have an interactive walkthrough. For offline presentations you can have heavy scenes with millions of polygons.

For online walkthroughs you have to take in consideration the hardware capabilities of each user, but with the necessary precautions you can rollback visual effects according to each individual user.

Realtime visualization can be used as a design tool, In many cases it is even quicker than making a flythrough and gives the advantage of covering every possible corner or viewing angle from eye height. No more comments about the alien aerial perspectives that nobody could ever see in reality! For the designer too the ability to simulate a real world stroll in the designed space presents new challenges ... which can hopefully be solved before final deliveries. In addition users can add 3D 'post-it' notes, therefore you can have multiuser reviews, and comments in specific 3D places of the model. This could give many ideas for how to work remotely while having a constant visual feedback, but more interestingly you can get community feedback from proposed masterplans with an interactive and playful way. for any questions or comments contact alex

Pink Tank
2006-2007

Pink Tank was, in short, a 3D online journal. I developed Pink Tank for a year (2006-2007) with a multidisciplinary team. I started development in Central Saint Martins and after I graduated I was invited to continue it with the Arts and Business program, a collaboration between BT, Cambridge University and Goldsmiths. Unfortunately we didn't get the appropriate funding to continue.

Pink Tank is akin to a magazine but not a magazine, akin to a forum but not a forum, akin to a video game but not a video game. Pink Tank is a 3D online space for creative thinking and entertainment. Visitors to Pink Tank may explore the 3D environment, read articles, listen to soundscapes, recordings and music, play mini games, watch videos, interviews, animations, documentaries and lectures and take part in discussions. read more...

This is the latest draft video with no voiceover.

Personal Cinema
2001- 2006

I worked with the personal cinema group for many years. Our most interesting project was "the making of balkan wars: the game", a virtual environment that hosted work by 52 artists, theorists, poets, musicians, and film directors. In the project I worked in the following fields;

Coordination, 3D graphic design, concept design, exhibition design, and of course art.

This project was one of the most challenging I have ever worked on, mainly because of its sociopolitical implications and the sensitive organisational skills required in such a creative environment. On the closure of the project I wrote an article, published in 'Third Text'(Routledge) in a special issue on the Balkans. read article
